Day 5 of a short month. How quickly does time fly? Remember being a child and it seemed like time never moved? It seems like the older we get the faster the batteries go in our time clocks...although it seems to me that I could use the energizer bunny batteries to get myself going some days.
Yesterday was a wonderful day at the Senior Center in Wilmette. I taught the painting class yesterday and our theme was Sailing to Jamaica. We did some doodling called Zentangle and listened to the music of the Andrew Sisters singing "Rum and Coke a Cola". What a pleasant day. We collaged a sunset with the boat on it. The residents had a great time and we all talked about whether they ever went sailing and they shared fireworks on the lake stories. I shared my sailing experience with them. On such a cold, snowy day it was really nice to think of sunrises and sunsets, the lake, sand and pebbles. Our brains are really something else. It can bring forth so many thoughts and memories. It is one of the most important parts of our body. It dictates what can happen or has happened. Let's make the word for the day..THINK.
When we THINK, our minds are at work. It can transport us from here to there. It can take us from today to yesterday and off to tomorrow. It can make our bodies work properly and our speech to do well. It pumps our blood, it regulates our heartbeat. It can make us feel emotions or be void of them. What a powerful tool.
Think about yesterday. What does it bring to mind? If you THINK of your childhood, can that being pleasure and joy or sadness and sorrow? I THINK for most of us it can bring a little of both.
The book "The Little Engine That Could"...remember it? I THINK I can. THINK is used as a motivational word. Today, set aside some time to THINK about what you want out of life. No matter what it is...THINK that is is possible and make it so.
QUOTE for the day:
